How Do I Hold a Sales Receipt?
Say you have a customer come up to the counter, ready to pay and then sees some other merchandise they want to purchase.
You have other customers in line and want to make their check out process as quick as possible.  In QuickBooks Point of Sale
you can put the sales receipt of the customer that wants to continue shopping on Hold, and attend to the customers in line.

Placing a document on hold temporarily sets it aside. With a document on hold you can carry out other activities, make another
document of the same type, run reports, or even exit from Point of Sale. There is no time limit for how long a document can be
left on hold.

When you have your sales receipt open and need to place it on hold, go to the bottom of the form and click on the HOLD
RECEIPT button
After placing the receipt on Hold, you can go on to other activities, including ringing up another sale.  When the customer is
ready to complete the sale, you can get to the held receipts in a number of ways.  If you are in a sales receipt, you will notice
that the HOLD RECEIPT button has changed to read HELD RECEIPTS.  Simply click on the Held Receipts button to bring up a list
of all receipts that are currently on hold.  Simply click on the receipt you want to make active and complete the sale.
